Back by Nouveau demand!

Posted on 9/10/14 by Delice

We had such fun at the start of the year with our Beaujolais Nouveau evening that we’re doing it all again!

We’re really excited to host a truly French foodie special on Thursday 20th November, all accompanied by our favourite accordionist Rosemary.

Beaujolais Nouveau menu

Beaujolais is wine from the Burgundy region, so we’ll be matching up three courses to suit our favourite vintages, including dishes such as coq au vin, terrine de boeuf and tarte aux poires. Our head chef Laurent is originally from Dijon, nestled right in the department, so there isn’t much he doesn’t know about Beaujolais and the foods that go hand in hand with it.

Our guests in January had a fantastic night and the atmosphere more than made up for the chilly weather outside so make sure you don’t miss out! Tickets are £25.95 per person and you can give us a call on 01509 210013 or email info@delicefinefoods.co.uk to make your reservation.

Be our guest!

Delice Deli Café turns one year old

Posted on 12/11/13 by Delice

Loughborough deli Delice Deli Café celebrated its first birthday in continental style, sharing the best in local and French produce with local businesses and familiar faces.

The café on Baxter Gate, played host to invited guests, offering beautiful homemade pâtés, Leicestershire cheeses and French cured meats, as well as some well-called for bottles of Jean-Paul Vaucluse.

“It’s simply our way of saying thank you to the people who have supported us over the past 12 months,” said Sharon Palmer, co-owner of Delice.

“It’s fantastic that a year down the line we are still here, giving the people of Loughborough and the surrounding area, a unique experience, and all in the best taste.

“We’ve been letting everyone know about the deli’s Christmas and outside catering menus as well so there really has been something for everyone.”

VIVE LE CAKE !

Posted on 14/07/12 by Delice

Loughborough’s Delice Deli Café is all set to celebrate Bastille Day this year by bringing onion and garlic flavoured cupcakes to the masses.

The deli has created these quirky cakes to let the people of Loughborough get an insight into the flavours of France, and will be handing out mini cupcake samples on 14 July in the market.

Sharon Palmer, joint owner of Delice, knows the cakes will turn a few heads, saying:

“Onion flavour may not be the first thing you think of when it comes to cake, but it definitely makes France spring to mind! They’re certainly unusual but we wanted to take inspiration from the annual French festivities, and they’re very tasty.”

Delice, on Baxter Gate, is big on continental flavours, with joint owner and chef Laurent Gerbet hailing from Dijon in north eastern France himself. He explains that:

“Bastille Day is a big party in France. Everyone takes the day off, and comes together to celebrate.

“We wanted to bring something a little different to the table by adding a French twist to a English teatime treat. The cupcakes mix the best of English with a Gallic streak, which reflects what we’re all about.”
